MetaCarta, a fast growing well established technology startup, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Field Engineer. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the Field Engineering team and will be focused on Media and Publishing customers.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Work in close cooperation with prospects, customers, users and internal staff to qualify new customers and implement solutions based on MetaCarta on-site and hosted services and products.
- Becoming an expert on the relevant technical functioning and integration of MetaCarta technology and products in the customer environments
- Performing both standard document ingestion and custom ingestion solutions for customers
- Creating custom GUIs and portals
- Answering implementation questions about MetaCarta products
- Writing code as necessary for implementations at MetaCarta and customer sites
- Experienced in web services development
- Able to develop for Microsoft OS and Linux environments
- Using problem solving skills to get MetaCarta systems up after down time
- Using diagnostic skills to ascertain why MetaCarta system might be failing
- Integrating customer with hosted service and installing and maintaining MetaCarta products at customer sites
- Some travel to customer sites
- Occasionally attend industry trade shows and conferences
Qualifications:
- College degree required.
- 3+ years experience in online content or search related business
- Program in Python, Perl, HTML, JSON, JavaScript, .NET
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a highly organized manner
- Able to handle multiple time-sensitive initiatives and competing priorities
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
- Superior listening skills to effectively ascertain user requirements
- Goal oriented, self-directed and self-motivated within a team environment
- Desire and ability to take ownership of producing stated operational objectives
- Search engine marketing or online advertising experience a big plus.
