Under the agreement, MetaCarta is integrating Group 1's Centrus geocoding software for U.S. postal addresses into its Geographic Text Search (GTS) systems. MetaCarta's systems conduct searches by geography and retrieve information based on keywords.
Group 1's technology enables MetaCarta's customers to increase the precision and accuracy of the latitude/longitude coordinates for addresses identified by MetaCarta's GTS systems. By incorporating Group 1's technology within, end-users can rank documents by location from a given point.
